where does the oil go in a 91 mercury station wagon?

I checked the oil and its low, I want to replace it but i dont know where it goes.

There is a crankcase oil fill hole on top of one of the valve covers. Look around for a large "wing nut" type opening directly on top of a valve cover.

    There should be a round cap on top of the engine that says oil they are usually black.
