She has been diagnosed years ago as bi-polar. She has fits of rage for no apparent reason. She watches our granddaughter for my widowed daughters child 7 nights a week. Even though my daughter doesn’t work but 4 night a week. She refuses to question why she always wants her baby sit. I know that she is out partying almost every night. my ex refuses to believe it though. when I bring up the subject, she goes off on one of her fits of rage and the next complains about watching the baby again. about 3 or 4 night a month my daughter is to burnt out to even bring her to her mom’s house so she lets her run wild through her apartment and do as she pleases ( she is One year old). Now on the days that my ex does not have the baby, she will take several of her toys, like the radio flyer wagon and the little playschool jungle gym and several other of the larger toys she has and randomly spread them around her front yard. To me it looks as if some kids just left them laying around willy nilly, actually that’s the effect my ex wants. She says she wants her yard to look as if the granddaughter had just left them there so the neighbors thinks she is staying over again. Now to me going through that kind of pre-arrainged staging of these toys in itself is rather strange. Or does my ex realize that our daughter is out partying all the time and is just trying to stage a happy environment for all to see. I have picked up the toys in the evening and then in the morning I would see them staged like lawn ornaments out in her yard again. What is this mania that she is presenting. My ex wants to be a granny, She has actually found some hair dye to make her hair look grey, she dresses like a complete old lady. I told her that she has plenty of time to be old and she need to stop this game. she spends money left and right, and her house is falling apart she’s 46 and looks 70. I’ve had freinds of mine ask how my mothers been doing and their meaning her, in all honesty they thought that she was my mother. we’re the same age. She will not allow anyone in her home but first family and me. All the neighbors call her Sybel, as they have in the past as well. She thinks all the neighbors are plotting a plan against her in order for them to get injured on her property so they can sue her and take her house away from her. It may sound a bit funny, But, I fear for her safety and my kids safety, 3 or the 4 children we have had left the area already, they also agree with me but don’t want to help in the event that their mother may retaliate against them in the future. I’m in the state of GA. and I wish to report her to some mental health agency so she can get back on her MEDS (lithium and XANEX) but I don’t want to get caught by either. any advice. We actually got divorced because she stopped taking her meds and I was to afraid to come hoem. She attacked me one time and then called tha police on me saying that I hit her. I did in fact wrap my arms around her from behind and sat her down on my lap until she calmed down enogh for me to make it to the door. I got arrested for battery that night. She plans these fits in advance I have over heard her on the phone with her sister planning out the stratigies. so all or most of this is premeditated. IE staging toys in the yard to look as if the baby had been here. What d I do. She is the mother of my kids and I do want her to be around a little longer. I have tried talking to her and that alone brings out a fit rage as she screams " I’m not crazy". I’m concerned and worried, HELP. She has told our kids that I beat her on a regular basis. I’ve never laid a finger on her, she’s told them I was a raging drunk and never came home, I always came until she went burzerk and then I left so I didn,t get arrested again. she left the state of Marraige in WI. and moved to GA. 14 years ago and told the kids that I abandoned them. I never knew where they where until the IRS found her for me. I couold have had her arrested for child abduction but it’s too late now. I could go on and on siting further examples, she has even turned my own familiy against me for trying to help her. hooyaaxx@msn.com
I don’t know if you realize this but you are , the first person to actually come to my corner Irish mom. As I to am a MIC. I have been trying for years and feel that I can’t quit something that I have begun. Alot of things have been dammage along the way, me being one of the damged items, jobs, relationships. Thanks but no matter what the Bakeract is still in the state of Fl. that does me no good in GA.
In Florida they have something called the "Baker Act" that allows family members of an individual to have them involuntarily admitted to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation, on the grounds that they pose a danger to themselves or others. You may want to contact the closest mental hospital near where she lives, and ask about involuntary commitment statues, such as the Baker Act. It’s obvious that she needs a full evaluation and therapy combined with medication.
She should NOT be baby sitting for any child, ever. She may be boderline schizophrenic. I commend you for wanting her to get help. It’s a shame that her sister enables this behavior, but maybe their mental affliction is genetic.
Your adult children need to stop being in denial and ally with you to get this woman help. She is a time bomb waiting to go off and when she does, someone may very well end up hurt or dead.
